Blocking and Harassment Policy

Blocking Policy

If you block the staff or the organization's social media accounts while you are a member, your contract will be terminated immediately. We will find an alternative way to contact you regarding the return of our organization vests and other products. Following this, we will permanently remove your personal data from our database.

Harassment Policy

Good Karma Assistance Dogs does not tolerate bullying, harassment, or any form of abuse, whether it occurs within the organization or externally. This policy applies to trainers and all staff members.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Physical assault
  • Verbal abuse
  • Slander, libel, malicious communication, and defamation
  • Any form of racial abuse
  • Homophobia, transphobia, biphobia, and enbyphobia
  • Sexual harassment
  • Ableism, including using disabilities as insults
  • Stalking of members or the organization

Assistance dogs are not the only entities protected by the Equality Act 2010; individuals from any minority group or background are also safeguarded by this Act.

Good Karma Assistance Dogs will not tolerate or condone cyberbullying.

We take all reports of bullying, abuse, or harassment seriously. Our response will be handled professionally and at our discretion, regardless of the situation.

If legal action becomes necessary, we will gather all relevant evidence, especially in cases of recurring issues. This may involve contacting the police and pursuing charges, potentially leading to a court case.

We will address slander, defamation, libel, and other forms of malicious communication against any member or the organization itself by all necessary means. This may include hiring a solicitor to issue a cease and desist order on our behalf, particularly in cases involving media outlets, journalists, business owners, charity organizations, and their staff.

Any member, including staff, who experiences harassment, bullying, or abuse from others within the organization will have their case handled confidentially. Continued misconduct will result in contract termination, the destruction of personal data from our system, and the need to refer to our 'Returns Policy' for appropriate returns.
